Under the framework “Capacity Building, Monitoring and Evaluation (DA SI 209-16)”, the Center for Sustainable Development Policy Studies, in collaboration with the Department of Child Care & Protection, MOLISA organised a training course on “Planning in Child Care & Protection” in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, 2nd - 4th March 2011. Many DOLISA child care and protection officers based in the North took part in this event.
This is one of the 3 training courses on planning organised for child care and protection officers. The training took place with the participation of 39 representatives from Financial and Planning Department and Child Care and Protection Dept of DOLISA in 25 provinces/cities of North Vietnam.
The objectives of the training course were:
1. To provide participants from DOLISA with basic knowledge of planning renovation
2. To provide participants with necessary skills on mainstreaming children’s issues into their planning (strategic planning, M&E).
Contents cover 3 modules were as follows:
Module 1: Child development issues in the sector’s plan. .
Module 2: Mainstreaming child issues in the renovation process of strategic planning at local level.
Module 3: M&E on the implementation of plan
Applying the teaching approach of participation and focused group discussion, the training took place in an constructive and enthusiasm manner.
After the training, 97% of participants concluded that the training was very important. It provided them with knowledge and necessary skills that were helpful for their current work. Many of them expressed their interest in attending other intensive trainings on planning, especially skills on mainstreaming children’s issues into their planning.
The same training course was organised for DOLISA officers based in the South and in the Centre in Can Tho and Da Nang respectively.

Training Material on Implementation of M&E for SEDP in Thua Thien – Hue province
Funded by UNDP/SNV, a team of consultants from CSDP completed a Traing Material on Implementation of M&E framework for SEDP in Thua Thien – Hue province, February – April 2009. This would be a handy TOT manual for local officers in monitoring and evaluating their SEDP.
