Representatives from People’s Council at training on Innovation of SEDP in An Giang

A team of consultants from CSDP conducted a training course on Innovation of SEDP in An Giang, 2^nd – 4^th November 2009. The partcipants were representatives from People’s Council at provincial and district level.

The training course covered the following contents: (i) Authority and role of PCs on economic-finance-social decision making; (ii) planning in market oriented economy: definition, condition and methods; (iii) innovation of local SEDP: strategic planning, consultation and completion of SEDP plan, mainstreaming children issues in local planning; (iv) Monitoring/Overseeing/Evaluation of local SEDP implementation.

The participants worked really hard so as to acquire huge volume of knowledge. They expressed their interest in attending other intensive courses. They also recommended to organise such training for every member of PC and separately for each level (province, district and commune) due to their different role of responsibility and nature of work.
